Quartz Stone Surfaces

Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide ( SiO2 ) and belongs to the sub-class of tectosilicates , occurring normally in the form of crystals of a white or translucent colour.

It can be found in pure form or in the composition of other material components, as in the case of AlphaStone® surfaces, with a proportion of 90% in the constitution of our quartz slabs.

Due to its extreme hardness − 7 in the scale of Mohs − and resistance to acids, quartz is particularly used for purposes which demands precision and execution of high quality.
